Weekly Reading TBR

Hi Everybody!

This week I am going to take it a little easy on myself as I haven’t been feeling 100% and I have selected three books to add to my weekly TBR this week. I have two upcoming Blog Tours, one in June and one in August, so I might also use this week to get a little head start on those, in planning and reading, while we are still in Lockdown. Getting a little prepared.

The first book I hope to read this week is Speak by Louisa Hall. This is one of my most recent purchases and one that has been calling to me since I bought it. This book is more of a Sci-Fi read, which is usually a genre I’m not a fan of, but after recently starting watching Westworld, this book stood out to me and now I’m so eager to start it! This is about an AI named MARY3 is on her way to be destroyed, her batteries are running out and all she can do is relive her memories one final time. And speak! This is her life. This book is split up into five books (parts) and it’s going to be interesting to see why and how it all comes together. I am tempted to read Book 1 one day, Book 2 the next and so forth. But knowing me I won’t be able to stop at that, but I am really interested in this book and reading something that I usually wouldn’t pick up. Thankfully that’s not where my mood is at at the moment and I’ve been discovering some fantastic books.

The second choice for me TBR this week was selected for me by Nathan and that is 84K by Claire North. This is a book that I did start at one point but I put it down for some reason. I know that a fellow Book Blogger I work with also bought this book and really enjoyed this and maybe I just got intimidated by that. Whatever reason, it is now on my TBR and I hope to finish it this time around. This book may be the reason why I have only selected three books to read this week. If I struggled to read it the first time round and put it down, then I wanted to have more time to read it and not have the pressure of extra books and falling behind. This is a Dystopian book, which is also comes under Sci-Fi on Goodreads, so maybe that’s why I put it down originally, I don’t remember. However, that does mean that I do have two Science Fiction books on my TBR for the week, which as I said, aren’t usually my go to reads. So lets see how this goes.

My last book I have selected for this week was my bowl pick of NetGalley/Amazon Vine books still awaiting reviews by me, and this time around I selected, Six Wicked Reasons by Jo Spain. This is a book I requested from Amazon, as part of the Amazon Vine Programme and thankfully it is also in my favourite book genre, Mystery Thriller! I am so glad this was the book I selected as I needed something from a genre I am familiar with this week. This sounds so good and I have been so excited to read it since receiving it in the mail, although something kept stopping me from picking it up. Maybe my mountain of other books.  Also, look at that beautiful cover, you know somethings going to happen. Now  is the perfect time to pick this book up and devour it, as the story and plot isn’t going to get mixed up with a load of other Mystery Thrillers as it’s the only one on my TBR for this week, giving it my full attention. Ready to hopefully wow me.

I am excited about this weeks TBR. I have been reading a lot more Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Dystopian this year and I have been thoroughly enjoying them. I love it when a book, or a genre, takes you by surprise and they’ve been opening up my reading tastes.

Hello! My name is Shayney Hardcastle. I am a massive book enthusiast so I created this blog as my own little place where I can write and express my thoughts and review each book I have read. I am 23 and am currently living in a small town in Wales, in the United Kingdom, and love how reading let's me explore the world outside of this small town. I have also recently been sent more and more books and ARC by authors to review and wanted a place to review them that wasn't just on Goodreads and Amazon.
