My Weekly Reading TBR

Hi everyone 👋 how are you all doing during this weird time?

After successfully completely last weeks Weekly Reading TBR, this is definitely going to become a regular thing for me. Again, I am usually a mood reader and like to select books I am usually in the mood for, otherwise I find the books dragging or my experience might be ruined by not being in the right mood for it at that time. So planning a month at a time can be a struggle, as I could change my mind so easily.

Just like last week, I am going to select three books to read this week, always with the hopes of reading more. All three books are physical books. So, what are theses books?

I really want to read and finish the last book in the Percy Jackson series and finally put that series to and end, with massive hopes and excitement that there’s going to be such an epic conclusion. I can’t believe I have waited so long to read this series! Wtf is wrong with me? The last book in the series is Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian by Rick Riordan and the worry that the conclusion is going to suck is so high within my soul and I don’t want it to ruin my experience. There are so many things that need to be answered within this book and so many things that need to be wrapped up and concluded, within these 361 pages. I know that there are spin offs, but I hope that I haven’t got to read those to get the satisfaction I need from this ending. Fingers crossed 🤞

As my current series is going to be coming to an end, my next book I plan on reading this week is going to be Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I’ve owned this series for a while now and again, is another series I am yet to read. I don’t know why I’m so bad at reading series 🤷‍♀️ I have heard mixed reviews about this series (after I bought it), which may be why I haven’t been eager to pick it up. This one was actually selected for my by my partner as I asked him to randomly select something for me from my shelf. I’m actually glad as I’m enjoying reading through my unread series that are on my shelves and I was going to feel lost without Percy and it may not have been one I would’ve picked up myself for a while.

The last book I’m going to read this month is one I am a little apprehensive about reading. For my finally book, I am hopefully going to read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. This is a book I was given as a gift (after saying I disliked the movie, why?). So it’s been sitting on my shelf staring at me. But I have been hearing good things about the book itself and I have previously read a short novella by Gillian Flynn and I did enjoy her writing. So I’m going to give it a go and try and go into it completely unbiased, especially as I have more of her books on my shelves that I refuse to read because of the movie Gone Girl. So I want to know once and for all about this book.

Let’s see how this week of reading goes and I will keep you all up to date on I get on with these books. Plus, looking back on last week, I have decided that if I am disliking a book, I am simply going to just DNF it as I didn’t get any satisfaction with finishing that book and in-fact, it prevented me from possibly reading something I could’ve enjoyed more. It took me FOUR DAYS to read a 129 page book!! No more! What are all of your reading plans?

Hello! My name is Shayney Hardcastle. I am a massive book enthusiast so I created this blog as my own little place where I can write and express my thoughts and review each book I have read. I am 23 and am currently living in a small town in Wales, in the United Kingdom, and love how reading let's me explore the world outside of this small town. I have also recently been sent more and more books and ARC by authors to review and wanted a place to review them that wasn't just on Goodreads and Amazon.
